This was a great trip! Dad surprised Mom with the idea of taking the Family to Chicago before Christmas. So, it was booked and planned and the surprise was passed on to the kids!

We left in the evening and landed safely in Chicago at night. After settling into our room, Dad ordered some Chicago dogs and Italian Beef for a late-night meal!

Day 1: After breakfast, we explored Grant Park, Millennium Park, and Maggie Daley Park. We saw Lake Michigan, Buckingham Fountain, Crown Fountain, Cloud Gate (“the Bean”), and went ice skating on the Ribbon.

That evening, we ate some deep dish at Giordano’s, then visited the Lincoln Park Zoo to see their ZooLights!

Day 2: After sleeping in, we headed to the Magnificent Mile. Specifically, the American Girl store!

After lunch at Portillo’s, we took a siesta in the hotel room. That evening, Dad went to the Monday Night Football game at Soldier Field while the girls went to Navy Pier (with a stop at the Tribune Tower).

Day 3: After breakfast, we made our way to Willis Tower! Afterwards, we explored the Christkindlemas Market and the Merchandise Mart areas.

It was sad to bid farewell to Chicago, but Christmas is still on its way! We made many memories on this trip and we can’t wait to visit again another day!
